Recognizing a need for more specialized programs in the
area, Marti endeavored to open a sensory clinic.
WeeCare Occupational Therapy, located at the Monroe
Center in Hoboken, New Jersey, opened its doors in January
of 2006. Marti has her certification for the Sensory Integration
and Praxis Test (SIPT) with Western Psychological
Services and has also completed the initial phase of Miller
Method training. She has completed extensive training in
many areas of practice, including sensory integration,
handwriting, TAMO, therapeutic listening, oral motor
therapy and vision screening and treatment. Marti is a
board-registered occupational therapist, licensed in the
states of New York and New Jersey
Jennifer Leiman, M.S. OTR/L,
is a staff occupational therapist
working in the pediatric field for the
past six years. She earned both her
Bachelor's and Master's degree from
Ithaca College where she

or Marti, has been a board certified
therapist for twelve years and has worked
throughout the New York metropolitan
area, contracting with area hospitals and
in academic settings in both New York and
New Jersey for the last ten years.
Marti's experience includes development
of a collaborative preschool program for
New Jersey urban school districts.

Jennifer has worked extensively with children with various
developmental, behavioral and neurological challenges;
focusing on sensory integration difficulties directly
affecting fine-motor, visual perception/motor and self-help
skills. She has worked in multiple settings including
home-based, center-based, schools and clinics.
Additionally, Jennifer has worked in multiple aquatic settings,
teaching children with sensory dysfunction and individuals
on the PDD spectrum how to regulate their sensory
systems as well as educating staff on working with children
with special needs. Jennifer has furthered her education by
becoming certified in the program Hand Writing Without
Tears, evaluation and treatment (November 2008).
Cristy Mendoza, M.A. OTR/L,
has been working as an occupational
therapist for over six years. She received
a Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy
in 2001 and went on to complete her
Master’s degree in Child Development with
a concentration in Special Needs and
Cognitive Development. She has taken a
wide range of courses including NDT for
the Infant, Handwriting Without Tears, DIR-Floortime
Basic, and is currently working towards SIPT certification.
Cristy has worked in Early Intervention, Inclusive
preschool and public schools. Interests include social
emotional regulation, sensory integration and its
relationship to learning, and early childhood development.
